Vancouver's Independent Election Taskforce presented their final report today calling for Proportional Representation for City Council elections and recommending a randomly-selected Citizens Assembly to design the new system.
The report covers five core recommendations:
A. ADOPTING A PROPORTIONAL VOTING SYSTEM
B: REFORMING CAMPAIGN FINANCING
C: INCREASING VOTER TURNOUT
D. MAKING ANONYMOUS BALLOTING DATA AVAILABLE IN OPEN DATA FORMAT
E. CONDUCTING A PILOT FOR ONLINE VOTING
